Interaction Design to change appetite with olfactory training

Product Design & Application Design

INTRODUCTION

This project tries to use olfactory training to control olfaction ability, with the ultimate goal being to control appetite. The device used specific scented smells to train olfaction on a regular basis, and this is accompanied by an app which is connected to the device with bluetooth. Every once in a while, the app sends a notification to the user as a reminder for training, regular tests and reports are used to monitor changes.

OVERVIEW

What is the problem?

Appetite is an important material desire in human life, which is present in everyone's daily life and controls human behavior and mood. A typical and widespread example is the loss of appetite caused by the aftermath of Covid-19. In today's highly developed human civilization, the phenomenon of appetite's going out of control is worth noticing.

What is the solution?

Depending on the olfactory ability and the goal of expecting appetite, regular olfactory training is carried out with a wearable device that is easy to carry around to enhance or suppress appetite. At the same time, the mobile app is used to detect olfactory ability and as a visual element to aid training
